In loving memory of Pamela Sehon Berndt
January 27, 1949 - May 26, 2025
Pam Berndt, a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, and pillar of her community, passed away peacefully at home on May 26, 2025, after a valiant battle with cancer, at the age of 76. Born on January 27, 1949, in Odessa, Texas, to John Hilbert Allison and Marie Elixabeth Pennington, Pam was a vibrant and accomplished individual.
Pam graduated from Odessa High School, where she was an active member of the marching band, playing the clarinet. Her passion for music extended to her church, where she also played the piano, enriching the lives of those around her.
Pam later attended barber school and briefly pursued a career in hairstyling before transitioning to a role at Texas Electric in Odessa, Texas. There, she began her career as a teller and switchboard operator on a part--time basis. Demonstrating her exceptional abilities and unwavering commitment, she earned a promotion and relocated to Garland, Texas, where she joined Oncor Electric’s Engineering Department.
After relocating to Garland for her position at Oncor, Pam, her husband and son Jeremy, settled in Rowlett, Texas, where they purchased a home and began building a life rooted in community and connection. It was there that Pam became deeply involved with the Dallas Home Builders Association. Her dedication and vibrant personality quickly made her a beloved presence within the organization. Through her involvement, she formed numerous lifelong friendships and developed a strong network within the local building community.
In 1993, Pam returned to her studies and proudly received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Amber University, where she was also an active member of the Alpha Nu sorority.
In 2003, Pam faced the profound loss of her husband after a prolonged illness. Demonstrating her resilience and determination, Pam advanced in her career, ultimately earning a promotion to New Construction Manager for Downtown Dallas and the surrounding areas. As one of the few women in her field, she was later offered a prestigious role as Service Center Manager for Oncor, marking a significant milestone in her career.
In 2005, Pam met the love of her later life, Ed, and the two shared a beautiful connection that brought renewed joy and companionship. They were married on June10, 2007, during a joyful cruise to Bermuda--a romantic and unforgettable celebration that became a treasured memory for them both.
Pam took immense pride in her son, Jeremy, and her beloved “grand babies”, as she would refer to them. On July 8, 2006, Jeremey married Jamie, and together they brought immense joy to Pam and Ed's lives with the blessing of two wonderful grandchildren, Connor and Camryn. As they grew, both children became actively involved in various sports and livestock shows in Fairfield, Texas. Pam cherished every moment spent cheering them on from the sidelines and supporting them in all their endeavors.
Pam took great pride in watching her son Jeremy coach football, finding deep joy in seeing him guide and inspire young athletes. His leadership on and off the field was a reflection of the very values Pam cherished--dedication, resilience, and compassion. Her love for family ran deep, and in every game he coaches and every life he touches, her spirit lives on in the strength and love she left behind.
Pam was survived by her husband, her son, her daughter-in-law and her beloved grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends--each of whom will forever cherish her memory and the love she so generously gave.
A Celebration of Life honoring Pam Berndt will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home in the Wildwood Chapel, with Pastor Nathan Tucker officiating. A graveside service will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Pam's memory to the American Cancer Society.
