For me, I believe, it all started Halloween of 1980. Us neighborhood kids were playing outside when I noticed some new people had moved into the house 7 doors down from mine. I somehow summoned the courage to go knock on the door. When Pam answered my first question/comment was something like, “Hi! Your new here. Do you have kids?” And from pretty much that moment on the Carlson Family became and extended part of our family for many, many years. I can’t even begin to count the holidays shared, the weekends spent shopping, dinners together, BINGO nights out and a few get-a-ways taken. Pam was a fixture at Mom’s table. Chatting, couponing, drinking cup after cup of coffee! Pam worked at White Swan. It was one of the coolest jobs I could think of at that time! She would bring home boxes and boxes of samples used for food service. Food, serving pieces, catalogs of anything and everything you could think of! One of the gifts Pam shared with my Mom was a set of beautiful serving pieces. This bowl and platter set. They became some of my Mom’s most treasured pieces. So treasured, like their friendship. I still use them for every family gathering. They usually end up being the center piece of the table. I will always remember how that simple gift from Pam made my mom feel! I will forever call them Pam’s bowl & Pam’s platter. I will forever cherish those many, many memories of Pam and Family being part of my family. Thank you, Pam, for the many laughs, tears, jokes, and fun times we all shared. Rest easy friend. Say “Hi” to Mom for me. ❤️🙏🏻❤️
