Frisco, TX – Patience Ukwa Edohoukwa, age 58, was born to parents Okan Akpan Eshiet and Ikwo Okon Akpan in Nigeria on August 14, 1959. She passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 in Plano, Texas. Patience leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Harry Edohoukwa of Frisco, Texas; four sons, Aniekan Edohoukwa of Frisco, Texas, Mfon Edohoukwa, Harry Edohoukwa, Jr., Imoh Edohoukwa; two daughters, Ekaete Edohoukwa, Elizabeth Edohoukwa; and daughter-in-law Julie Edohoukwa. She will be deeply missed by her family, her friends, and all who knew and loved her.A funeral service for Mrs. Edohoukwa will be on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 2:30 PM in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home, visitation will be one hour prior.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road; Dallas, Texas 75243, (972-238-7111)BIOGRAPHY OF LATE DEACONESS PATIENCE UKWA EDOHOUKW A, 1959-2018 PREAMBLE: ”Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints”. (Psalm 116:15). “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away” (Rev. 21:4). BIRTH AND PARENTAGE: Late Deaconess Patience Ukwa Edohoukwa popularly called and known as “IME” (Patience) was born in the year of our Lord, August 14, 1959 in Ntit Oton, in Nsit-Ubium Local Government Area of Akwa Thom State of Nigeria into the family of Late Deacon Okon Akpan Eshiet and Late Madam Ikwo Okon Akpan, all from Ntit Oton village in Nsit-Ubium Local Government Area of Akwa Thom State ofNigeria. She was the first child of the family of six children, three preceded her and now two remaining.EDUCATION: Late Deaconess Patience Edohoukwa had her Primary School education at Ntit Oton Group School where she obtained her First School Leaving Certificate. She had her Secondary Education at Diamond Hill Secondary School in Calabar, Cross River State of Nigeria. On arrival in the United States of America, she attended Texas Women’s University in Denton Texas in the late 1980s through the early 1990s where she studied Fashion & Merchandising.CHRISTIAN LIFE: Late Patience Edohoukwa was a devout Christian, a prayer warrior and an outstanding Chorister who joined the Church Choir from her teenage years until death. She was born into a Christian family and continued in the faith with her parents. She underwent baptism and received the Right hand of Fellowship as a teen ager and became a full member of The Apostolic Church, Ntit Oton District. She moved to Calabar and continued as a member of the church at Efut Abua Assembly where she became a renowned chorister until relocating to Dallas Texas, United State of America.Here in Dallas, she joined hands with her husband and late Pastor Noah Inyang to get an Assembly of The Apostolic Church in Dallas started in 1997 because there was no Apostolic church available then. She was very active in every church activities including women movement, Church Choir, Intercessory group and children ministry. In the year 2002, because of her commitment to the service of the Lord, she was called to the office of a deaconess in the Church of God, a position that she held until death snatched her away. She was very devoted and committed to the service of the Lord.MARITAL LIFE: Late Patience Edohoukwa met and got married to Elder Ukwa Harry Edohoukwa while worshiping together at The Apostolic Church, Efut Abua Assembly, Calabar, Cross River State of Nigeria in 1978. The marriage was blessed with six children, four males and two females to the glory of God, who are left behind to mourn her death. Patience was a devoted and loving wife and mother who stood by her husband through thick and thin. Her children were the most precious gift that God has endowed her with, and she did not take it for granted, and was always thankful to her creator for the gift. She was very happy and always proud of her family, especially her children.OCCUPATION: Late Patience first job was as a clerk with the Public Complaints Commission in Calabar, Cross River State of Nigeria until 1986 when she relocated to the United States of America. In the States, her major role was as a wife and mother to her children, a position she held judiciously until death. When the children started growing up, she kept herself busy by working in the healthcare industries at various capacities. She was very hard working and was cherished by her employers and co-workers alike, she was very peaceful and dedicated to her work ethics, and was loved by everyone who came to know her.SOCIAL AND COMMUNITY LIFE: Late Deaconess Patience was a socialite who, though kept few close friends, but was very friendly with everyone she came across. Patience was very generous and accommodating, an epitome of true motherhood. She was a mother to all mothers in the Church and the community, especially the children and would make sure that every woman dress moderately in the Church of God. This assertion can be attested to by everyone who knew her. She joined various organizations and participated fully in total commitment and supported financially towards the development programs of the Church and communities.Some of the community organizations that she actively participated includes:- The Apostolic Church Women Movement, Nung Obong Development Association, Ubium Development Association, Esop Than Akwa Thom State Association and Ibibio People’s Union (IPU), just to name but a few. She was respected for her humility and honesty, she stood firm to the truth at all times.TRANSITION: In early March 2018, as she prepared to go home for the burial of her mother, she received a shocking news from her Primary care Physician that she was not fit to travel, she checked into the hospital for treatment. She was there until April 18th, 2018 when her Creator demanded her home coming. Surrounded by her loved ones, she bid them farewell and gave up the ghost. Deaconess Patience Edohoukwa left behind to mourn her death her husband, Elder Harry Edohoukwa; son, Aniekan Edohoukwa; daughter in-law, Julie Edohoukwa; son, Harry Edohoukwa Jr; son, Mfon Edohoukwa; son, Imoh Edohoukwa; daughter, Ekaete Edohoukwa; daughter, Elizabeth Edohoukwa; brother Aniefiok Okon Akpan and sister, Mary lboi.
