Patricia Jo Allen's Obituary
Patricia Jo Allen, age 81, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023, in Plano, Texas. She will be sincerely missed by her loving family, devoted friends, and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved her.
Patty was born December 11, 1941 in Thomas, Oklahoma to Kenneth and Joetta Potter. She was the first of two daughters and remained close to her sister Phyllis until her death, enjoying time with her and her family. The family resided in Enid, Oklahoma and remained close to many of those with whom she went to school.
Patty’s first marriage, to Bruce Martin Edwards produced two sons, Marcus Martin and Jeffrey Mitchell.
She spent 32 years with her second husband E. A. “Buz” Allen until his departure from us on March 10, 2013. They enjoyed their time at the lake and traveling with friends and family.
She was a family oriented, strong, self-assured and elegant lady who had a definite sense of style and confidence that radiated to all around her. She was compassionate and generous to all she came in contact with, supporting causes ranging from the needs of children to those with food insecurities.
During her life, she worked in many capacities ranging from modeling to helping Buz start a successful technology company, but was probably most admired for her creative ability and artistic talents. Those talents included quilting, pottery, glass work and painting. She had many hobbies but nothing brought her more joy than entertaining friends and family.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Joetta Potter, Buz Allen, Marc Edwards, Robyn Ungaro and Brad Allen.
She is survived by Jeff and Melani Edwards and family, Ethan and Marissa Edwards, Phyllis and Rob Denny and family, Bryan and Natalie Allen and family. The families include 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a nephew, one grand-nephew and 3 grand-nieces.
