I just heard the news about Pat's passing yesterday and am still in shock and heartbroken. Thank you, Melinda, for calling to tell me after I sent a text to your Mom. I have so many great memories of Pat - I will have a hard time picking a few to leave here!
I met Pat while working at RealPage. She was my one true friend there. She was the hardest working person, full of life, always a smile on her face. I remember when I first saw that she drove a Jaguar. When I was in high school, my goal in life was to own a Jaguar and she had one! I remember her love for her dogs. She was so proud of her kids and grandkids. She always talked about Melinda playing soccer in college, how she loved spending time with Melinda and Adri and she was so happy when the twins were born.
Pat traveled to the Philippines with me after we created a team there. They loved Pat! She always made everyone feel important and valued. We did Karaoke while we were there and had a blast.
I remember her love for the Texas State Fair and when she bought a massage recliner there. And when her and Steve put in the pool. She loved that pool!
I left RealPage a couple of years before Pat retired from there. Despite the fact that I lived in Tulsa, we always would try to get together when I was in Dallas. The last time I saw Pat was a year ago. We were in town during the summer and my son was playing baseball. I had failed to reach out to Pat before we got to Dallas, but sent her a text at the last minute hoping we could see each other. At that time, she was fully into her Pat's Pearl Garden business, but she made time to come out on a very hot day and see me at one of Hunter's baseball games. When she left, she gave me a hug. I will treasure that hug forever.
We will see each other again, Pat - and what fun it will be!
My condolences to Steve and Pat's entire family. Praying for all of you!
