Patricia Robinson Cannon's Obituary
Princess Patricia Robinson Cannon was born at Palacios (Matagorda County), Texas, April 6, 1922. She was one of five daughters of Oscar and Della Baldwin Robinson. Her paternal great grand parents were Reuben and Margaret Vaughan who were the first permanent settlers in Palo Pinto County. She attended public schools in Palacios, Texas, graduated Alvarado High School in 1939, and attended El Centro Junior College, El Centro, California. Patricia met Robert T. (Bob) Cannon while employed by Consolidated-Vultee aircraft. They were married in the First Methodist Church Chapel in Ft Worth on March 20, 1943, and celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary in March of 2005. After World War II, she and her husband lived in Fort Worth; Tulsa, and Cherokee, Oklahoma; Kailua, Oahu, Hawaii; and Dallas, Texas. She was an accomplished pianist and typist, and as a charter member of St Mark Presbyterian Church, Dallas, Texas, served not only as its first pianist and organist, but as its first secretary as well. She provided many years of piano accompaniments for the voice students of her daughter Beverly, and, the Gleaners Sunday school class. Preceded in death by her husband Robert, she is survived by her son Philip Vaughan Cannon, daughter Beverly Griffin-Dyer, and son-in-law Michael Dyer, as well as grand children :Jason Griffin, spouse Shannah Griffin; Elise (Griffin)Page, spouse Ronson Page; Matthew Cannon, Sarah Cannon, and Stephen Cannon; great-grand children: Myles Griffin, Emma Marie Page, Rory Page, Dakota Ashcraft; dear friend Kathleen Moore, and other extended family and friends. Visitation will be 6-8pm, Friday, January 13, 2017 at Restland Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Restland Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday at St. Mark Presbyterian Church in Dallas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the music library of St Mark Presbyterian Church.
