Patricia Ann Godo's Obituary
Patricia Ann Godo returned to her heavenly Father on February 14, 2021. It was her 83rd birthday.
Patricia Ann Godo was born on February 14, 1938 in Kaufman, Texas to Joseph Vernon and Mary Jane Taylor. Patricia was a long-time member of the Highland Park United Methodist Church, where she especially enjoyed the Saturday evening services.
She spent her early schooling in Kaufman, Texas; graduating from high school at Forest Ave High School in Dallas, Texas.
Patricia met the love of her life, Karoly Godo, and they married on March 6, 1960. Together they built a successful company in Avon Cleaners, where Pat was active in the company from 1968 until her retirement 2015. Patricia and Karoly loved to travel throughout the world, and especially to visit Karoly’s family in Budapest Hungary. Even after Karoly’s death, she traveled extensively with her good friend, Shirley Reichstadt.
Patricia was an avid reader and seeker of knowledge and a fierce defender of the needy. She brought this attitude to her business, where one of her great achievements was serving as President of the 5-State, Southwest Drycleaners Association.
Patricia is survived her son, Stacy D Godo; Grandchildren, Karoly Harrison Godo and Callie Taylor Godo of Dallas; Sisters, Verna Jo Hickman of Dallas and Janie Newton of Marshall, Arkansas and a host of friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Vernon and Mary Jane Taylor; Husband, Karoly Godo; Daughter-in-Law, Michelle Harrison Godo.
