Patricia Hurst's Obituary
HURST, PATRICIA NEWMAN Born in Dallas, April 10, 1927, died April 17, 2008. After attending 4 high schools due to her father’s Army career, she graduated from Highland Park High School in 1944, went on to SMU where she joined her beloved Chi Omega. A Member of Aldersgate Class, First United Methodist, for over 40 years, Park Cities Women’s Chorus, Park Cities Historical & Preservation Society, Past President Chi Omega Alumnae, Dallas Woman’s Garden Club. Worked at SMU in many offices, retiring in 2003. Survived by son, Robert Hurst and wife Betsy; Emily, Molly and Sarah Fisher; brother Campbell W. Newman, Jr. and wife Janice. Preceded in death by former husband I.T. Hurst. Visitation Sunday, April 20, 2008 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Restland. Graveside service, Monday, April 21, 2008 at 2:00 p.m., Restland, followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. in Cox Chapel at Highland Park United Methodist Church, 3300 Mockingbird, Dallas, TX. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to Chi Omega Education & Charity Fund of Dallas, c/o Angie Pirok, 2809 Purdue, Dallas, TX 75225 or the Aldersgate Class Scholarship Fund at First United Methodist Church, Dallas.
