Patricia Merritt Lanier's Obituary
Patricia Merritt Lanier passed away November 14, 2019 in Dallas, Tx. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, February 7, 2020 at the
Restland Wildwood Chapel.
Patty was born in Peoria, Illinois on February 11, 1947 to Frank and Dorothy Merritt. This beautiful, gracious ballerina with a loving heart and joyous laugh was peacefully released after more than a decade of the restraints from Parkinson's dementia. Patty graduated from Richardson High School, attended Texas Tech University and earned a bachelor of Fine Arts degree from SMU. She was a wonderful woman, friend, sister, mother and beautiful soul. She will be remembered and loved by so many for the happiness she brought to their lives.
"That thought the radiance which once was so bright be now forever taken from my sight. Though nothing can bring back the hour of splendor in
the grass, glory in the flower. We will grieve not, rather find strength in what remains behind."
Patty is survived by her daughter, Lauren Krizmanich and husband Jack, granddaughter Lane Merritt Krizmanich, sister Margaret Merritt DiSabato
husband Mark,her spouse Sidney Lanier, Niece's Tammy Merritt Gore, Nancy Merritt Neely and Julie Burns and their families, nephew Christopher Merritt, also step daughter Michele Baker and husband Clark, granddaughter Elizabeth Baker and stepson Steve Lanier. Patty is preceded in death by her son Jonathan Merritt Rice, her parents Dorothy and Frank Merritt, brother Michael Merritt and by a stepson William Lanier.
In lieu of flowers a Memorial Fund as been established for Patricia Merritt Lanier thu Margaret Merritt DiSabato.
