Ms Patricia Nelson Moore's Obituary
Patricia (Pat) Elaine Nelson Moore was called to be with her Lord on August 12th, 2023 after suffering a major stroke. She was born on July 2, 1949 in Dallas, Texas to parents Ernest L. Nelson and Virginia Nelson.
She is survived by her husband Mike Moore, son Scott Bates (wife Jennie Bates), daughter Marci Moore, grandchildren Carter Debus, Hannah Adams and Blake Bates, and brother Robert Nelson (wife Judy Nelson) along with her beloved cousins.
Pat was a proud graduate of Justin F. Kimball High School, class of 1967, where she was very involved in her school community and member of the Troubadears drill team. She was so proud of being a Kimball Knight that she married Mike at their 20th high school reunion and they have been together for 36 years. She spent most of her career as a dedicated legal assistant, but was also proud of her time as a Realtor at Ebby Halliday and being the President of a multifamily property management company. She also spent many years traveling the country with Mike in their RV vending products from their own company, By Design Crafts. As a member of the first Methodist Church of Mabank, her proudest accomplishment was serving and growing God’s Helping Hands, a ministry that provides supplemental food supply assistance to families on a limited budget in the Cedar Creek Lake area.
She was also very proud of her grandchildren. Many would see her in attendance at events supporting her grandchildren. From supporting the band at Friday night football games, to enduring the heat of baseball and soccer games, she truly was their biggest fan. Pat also loved the beach. She and Mike would often travel to Port Aransas and would almost always have her grandkids in tow. Mike and Pat had visited 46 of the 51 states in their years together.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 19th at the First Methodist Church of Mabank, 501 S. Third Street, Mabank, TX 75147. The service will be followed by a reception hosted by the Church.
