Patricia Bird Ough Chadsey's Obituary
Patricia Bird Ough Chadsey was born in Benkelman, Nebraska on May 27, 1921. She graduated from Benkelman High School and then went on to graduate from the University of Missouri, and then went on to get a Masters in Public Health from the University of Colorado. As a nurse in Dallas she graduated in the first class of S.W. Medical School Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program and worked and volunteered all over the Dallas area. Pat served as a Captain in the Army Nurse Corps in WWII with the 57 Field Hospital where she received two Bronze Stars. Landing at Utah Beach she followed the troops through France, Germany and Alsace Lorraine. Pat also received 2 Army Overseas Service Ribbons, and the Battle of the Bulge Metal. Pat was the first Foster volunteer at the Richardson Humane Society bringing many unloved dogs into a beloved environment before finding new forever homes. She also served for 15 years at the Agape Clinic at Grace UMC giving thousands of immunizations to Dallas children. She is survived by her son, John Scott Chadsey, her daughter, Cynthia Huitt, her three grandchildren, Tomacine Nicole Brizendine, Brittany Leigh Hill and John Kardatzke, and her two great grandchildren, Ella Harper Hill and Myla Mae Brizendine. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 50 years, Donald Scott Chadsey, and by her son, Scott Hunter Chadsey.
