Patricia Ann Pointer's Obituary
Pointer, Patricia Ann, 80, of Dallas, Texas passed away September 30, 2013 at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, eased on her journey by loving family and friends. Pat was born August 24, 1933 in Dallas, Texas to Frank DeLoache and Jerrell Evelyn (Morris) Sutton. She graduated from North Dallas High School in 1950 and attended North Texas State and Southern Methodist Universities. Pat broke into the Texas oil business with several bookkeeping and receptionist positions throughout the 1950’s. Motherhood called in the early 60’s and Patricia brought two children into the world with her then husband, Robert Griffin. Pat completed her professional career running the law offices of Ginsberg and Forman for over 30 years. She and Don Forman started in a two-room office which evolved into a very successful partnership with Reuben Ginsberg and a long-lived friendship between them. During retirement, she went on to offer bookkeeping services for several years due to her love and talent for “making the numbers match”. Pat married Dennis J. Pointer June 14, 1980. They were together many years prior with trips to New Mexico, Colorado, Puerto Vallarta, and El Salvador among many of their adventures, including motorcycle trips to Oklahoma. Pat and Dennis were part owners of Texas Tea House II, a lower Greenville Avenue landmark for several years. Pat had a passion for the arts, books and lively conversation. She attended the theatre, collected Limoges and Boulanger, and loved staying up late reading detective thrillers and watching British historical series. Pat gave her gift of compassion and sage advice to all whose lives she touched, and was loved dearly by her family and friends. Pat is survived by her daughter, Kelly DeLoache Burke; son, Michael Trever Griffin and his wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Samuel Burke, Laine Griffin, and Noah Griffin; her kitties, Poinci and Alfie, and many dear friends. Pat was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dennis J. Pointer. Join the family in a Celebration of Life on Monday, October 7, at 3:00 PM in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. There will be a reception at the Pointer residence following the gathering at Restland.
