Patricia "Patti" Edson Pounders' Obituary
Patricia Pounders passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on December 19th, 2019. "Patti" was born on February 25th 1930 in Topeka, Kansas where she spent her childhood years. She was predeceased by her parents, Maurice & Harriet Edson and her older brother John
Edson. She is survived by her daughter Susan (husband Tim) Black of McKinney, Texas and her son Craig (wife Joni) Whitney of Cypress, Texas, granddaughters Kelly {husband Eric) Hainlin of Frisco, Texas, Lindsay {husband Chris) Shotwell of Jersey Village, Texas and Kristi (husband Kyle) Hall of Fulshear, Texas, step-grandchildren Natalie Black Mathew and Jill Black. She is also survived by five great grandchildren, Madison & Emily Hamill, Brady & Logan Shotwell and Parker Hall, and step-great
grandson Elliott Mathew.
Patti was a very special and giving person full of life, laughter and love. She attended Kansas University where she studied fashion design prior to marrying {Charles Whitney) and starting a family in Ft. Worth, Texas. She and her family moved to Richardson, Texas in 1964 where she raised her children and met many of her long-time friends. She always considered Richardson her hometown and resided there for over 50 years. She was a fun and loving mother whose interests and hobbies included painting, gardening, cooking, interior design, antiquing and inventing things. She was also known to sneak into model homes under construction.
Patti was kind to everyone and always put others before herself. She was loved and adored by many including her children's and other family member's friends. She was caring but feisty, sometimes a little naughty and always had a great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed but will always be cherished as a wonderful lady, Mom and friend. May she rest in peace!
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Restland in the Wildwood Chapel.
