Patricia Ann Ratliff's Obituary
Patricia Ann Ratliff, affectionately known as "Patty," passed away peacefully on November 16, 2024, in Mesquite, Texas, at the age of 92. Born on February 24, 1932, in New Gulf, Louisiana, Patty lived a life full of love, adventure, and dedication.
Patty was a proud and accomplished dental assistant for over 50 years, a career she cherished deeply. Her commitment to her profession was evident as she served as the President of the Dallas County Dental Assistants Association, and was past president of the Texas Dental Assistant Association, where she made lasting contributions to the field.
Beyond her professional life, Patty had a zest for life that was truly inspiring. She was an avid gambler who enjoyed playing slots and had a special fondness for betting on gray horses. Patty had a deep love for traveling that took her to many wonderful places, including the Panama Canal, Australia, and her favorite destination, Lake Tahoe. Patty also loved to fish and would react to every catch like she caught the biggest fish in the world.
A talented knitter, Patty was known for her beautiful creations and her stylish hats, which she loved to give away to anyone that needed or wanted one. She had a generous heart, always ready to give to those in need, and was a dedicated supporter to a large number of charities. Her love for the color pink was a reflection of her vibrant personality.
Patty was married to the love of her life, Louis Ratliff, for 50 wonderful years until his passing in 2001. She adored her cat, Momo, who was her faithful companion.
Patty is survived by her loving daughters, Linda Whalin and Frances Ann Campbell, as well as her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
