Patricia (Pat) R. Hassell's Obituary
HASSELL, PATRICIA R. (PAT) 80, longtime business owner died peacefully on March 13, 2011. Tom and Pat Hassell opened their first business in Dallas, Saner Ave. Cleaners in 1961 followed by their first One Hour Martinizing Dry Cleaners on Marvin D. Love Freeway in 1969. Additional business opened in DeSoto and North Dallas. She continued working in her Lake Highlands One Hour Martinizing until a change in her health in 2000. She was a long time member of Gaston Oaks Baptist Church and loved her church family. Pat was a friend to all she met and a support to her family, customers, employees, church members and caretakers. She will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Hassell; parents, Mason and Emma Funderburg; her brother, Joe ; two sisters, Georgia and Jean. She is survived by her brother, Morris Funderburg and his wife, Ramona of Tyler; Her children, daughter, Sandy Monkers and husband, Pierce, son, John Hassell and wife, Sharon, Marie Holleman and friend Mark and Donna Belk and husband, Gary; daughter, Mary Ann Lehew and husband, Chris and daughter, Lee Ann Hassell Peek and husband, Jamie; 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. The family would like to personally thank moms caring doctors and caretakers, Dr. Irwin Korngut and staff, Dr. Sherron Helms, Dr. Gill Kirkpatrick and staff at Texas Oncology, Allstar Hospice, and the caring staff of Windsor Sr. Living. Services will be held at 3:00PM, Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Restland Abbey Chapel.
