Patricia Steward Swain's Obituary
Patricia Steward Swain, everyone’s favorite, passed Friday, May 26, 2023 from complications of her cancer. She was the first person you wanted to talk to when you had any news about your life, good and bad. She would be ready with a heartwarming story or unique experience to share that made you feel heard and related to and supported, but most importantly loved.
She had a wild sense of humor, laughing at the dumbest, silliest, physical comedy jokes the most. She raised her children on The Three Stooges and Get Smart, and forced them to watch Dumb & Dumber so many times that they now quote it in their every day life. Her quick wit and slightly dark humor will be remembered as we reflect on the time we had with her.
She appreciated education and championed not only in her children and grandchildren, but in the lives around her. She worked many years for Carter Blood Care but enjoyed her time there as an educator, training new phlebotomists, most of all. She was always ready to impart wisdom if you were ready to listen.
She was most dedicated to her family and made sure that those who were closest to her understood that there was never too big of an ask. She always had time or solutions for your most distressing problems. You always knew you had a home with our mother.
While we mourn the loss of Patricia, we will forever hold her in our hearts and allow her love and support to continue to inspire us. She is survived by her daughters, Lady and Lenore, her son, Sy, and her grandchildren, Annabel, Margaret, and Stevie. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider donating blood to your local blood bank in her honor. May Patricia’s memory serve as a reminder to cherish our loved ones and be there for each other in times of need.
