Patricia Ann Treat's Obituary
On May 18, 1938, Josie & Jodie Davis welcomed their second baby girl, Patricia Ann Davis in Honey Grove, Texas. Also, she was embraced by three brothers - George, Cotton and Bobby Gene and a sister- Betty Jo. Larry, her younger brother would come several years later. The young family lived and worked on a 100-acre farm in Honey Grove, Texas.
Patricia married her high school sweetheart, Elbert Shannon in 1956. This union brought Patricia her most precious possessions, her daughters – Paula and Renee. After a few travels in Texas, the young family laid roots in Anaheim, California. Renee and Paula have fond memories camping in various locations in California and riding motorcycles on the salt flats. In addition, they lived in a cul-de-sac near lots of young families. There were some exceptional times in that California neighborhood and friends became as close as family.
In 1974, Elbert and Patricia divorced, and Renee and her moved to Plano, Texas to be close to her brother Larry and his family. Though possessions were limited during that time, Renee and Patricia felt rich with the quality experiences they shared during that time. Also, Patricia earned her Cosmetology license and worked in this profession for over 30 years.
In 1978, Patricia met the love of her life, Albert Treat, a single parent with a young daughter named Pam. This little girl was welcomed into the family and raised as her own.
Patricia and Albert enjoyed their years as empty nesters. Patricia worked at various beauty shops with a core group of ladies until retirement and Albert worked as a salesperson, drove a school bus for Allen ISD and volunteered for the Allen police department. They enjoyed traveling and made exceptional memories together with the family, especially with their grandson Matt as well as Pam and her family. Matt would later have a great- granddaughter named Braylee, whom Pat and Al adored and shared many precious times together.
In February 2016, Albert succumbed to cancer after 35 years of marriage. Patricia and Paula moved to Fort Worth, Texas into a home connected to her daughter Renee, who had her mom’s dream home constructed. This time was so special for the three of them. Countless family dinners, holidays and various life celebrations have occurred in the past several years with numerous opportunities for laughter as well as regular visits from Pamela as well as Patricia’s grandchildren, Matt, Hunter, Braylee, and Easton.
Fort Worth is where Patricia found her most special church family at South Hills Baptist Church. She was active in weekly Sunday school as well as Women on a Mission, a church outreach program. The woman she met at this church touched her life in a myriad of ways and her faith blossomed.
On June 21, 2023, Patricia passed away after a year lengthy battle with cancer. Her daughters were by her side, and she was welcomed into the arms of the Lord. She is survived by her three daughters – Paula McGill, Renee Shannon, Pam Hathaway, grandsons – Matt McGill and Hunter Hathaway, great-granddaughter – Braylee McGill and great-grandson Easton McGill, various family spouses, and numerous nieces and nephews.
