Patsy Lorene Collins' Obituary
Forever In Our Hearts …
Patsy Lorene Yarbrough Collins, age 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, August 3, 2022.
Patsy was born on November 15, 1933, in Dallas, Texas, to Rene and Vivian Reeb. She considered Dallas, Texas her home as she lived the majority of her life in Big D. Patsy spent her retirement years at Cedar Creek Lake before illnesses began to take their toll requiring her to relocate back to the Dallas area to live closer to immediate family.
Married to Robert Russell Yarbrough in 1954 they were happily married until Robert’s death in 1993. They would give birth to Regina Louise in 1956 and Robert Alan in 1960. Patsy would later marry again in 2002 to Glynn Curtis Collins but became widowed a second time in 2018.
Professionally, Patsy was a jack of all trades in the banking industry as an executive officer working for several small and large community banks. She retired from banking in 1995. In her spare time, Patsy had a love for painting. She produced numerous paintings that now hang in the homes of family and friends. But, her real passion was round dancing where she and Robert were renowned for their synchronized ballroom dancing skills enabling them to travel the US performing exhibitions.
Patsy excelled at propping up her family and friends and supporting them through the many passions or difficulties of their lives. She loved her church family and exhibited her strong faith through active involvement and funding charitable causes. Patsy was most proud of completing the “Walk to Emmaus” while being a member of Payne Springs United Methodist Church.
Patsy was a story-teller and enthralled her listeners with tales of her life experiences, the escapades of her children, the fellowship with her church family, and memories of world travels. She was a joyful presence with her beautiful smile, caring and warm heart, and bubbly personality. Patsy would spend the final four years of her life within the home of son, Alan, and her daughter-in-law, Tina, in North Richland Hills, Texas, as they became her caregiver.
Preceded in death by husbands Robert Yarbrough and Glynn Collins along with sister Jeannine Roark, Patsy is survived by her daughter Regina Louise Yarbrough Landry (husband Jerry), son Robert Alan Yarbrough (wife Tina), sister Nora Cribbs (husband William), and brothers Larry Reeb and Charles Wilson; grandchildren Jesse Tallent, Sarah Wise (husband Matt), Joshua Landry, Jenny Landry, Blake Yarbrough, and Brooke Beaster (husband Gerald); great grandchildren Dylan Wise, Madelyn Wise, Garrett Yarbrough, Addison Sorrells, Alanna Beaster, Layla Beaster, and Dominic Beaster; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
