Patsy Jean George's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Patsy Jean George, a compassionate and generous soul who touched the lives of all who knew her. Born on August 15th, 1931, in Denison, Texas, Patsy spent 93 wonderful years sharing love, support, and her incredible cooking with family and friends.
From an early age, Patsy's kitchen was the heart of her home. She learned to cook from her grandmother in Denison where she lived on a dairy farm and raised by Nannie and Pappa and her father Haskell Hunt. Her passion for cooking brought joy to her family, especially during Thanksgiving dinners, where she delighted in preparing feasts that brought everyone together. Her warm meals were more than just food; they were expressions of her endless love and selflessness.
In 1967, Patsy embarked on a fulfilling career as a Realtor at Ebby Halliday, dedicating 40 years to helping families find their dream homes. Her compassionate and supportive nature made her not just a realtor but a trusted friend to many.
Patsy was the devoted wife of the late Dayton George and a loving mother to her children: Preceding her in death was her oldest son Dane, daughter Susan, son Brian, and Rocky. Randy George is her only surviving son. She cherished her role as a grandmother to Chance, Rob, Rob’s late brother Jason and Crystal. Her daughter-in-law Rosa became like a daughter to her and 9 great-grandchildren. Though she faced the heartbreak of losing so many families members way before their time, Patsy’s God given strength, love and compassion never wavered.
Known for her enthusiastic love of Jesus and a supportive spirit and generous heart, Patsy was a beacon of kindness in the community. Her compassionate deeds and the warmth of her heart extended to everyone she met but especially to late Brian’s best friend, Bruce Mulvihill. Bruce was with her 24 hrs and did all he could to help her. Her grandson, Chance, who lived with her, sacrificed whatever it took to make Nan as comfortable and happy as possible. Thanks to Bruce and Chance, Patsy was never going to an old age home.
We will forever treasure the memories of Patsy's laughter, her comforting meals, and the love and sacrifices she made so other family members could benefit. She was the epitome of giving. As we say goodbye, we find comfort in knowing that her legacy of love and generosity lives on in each of us.
A service to celebrate Patsy's life will be held on February 10th, 2025, at Big Springs Baptist Church, 6538 N Jupiter Rd, Garland, TX 75044, at 2 pm.
