Patsy Hamilton's Obituary
On Friday, May 7, 2021, Patsy Hamilton of Providence Village, TX, passed away at the age of 81.
Patsy was born on June 30, 1939, in Ranger, TX, to Herman and Lily (Adkins) Scruggs. She grew up in Oak Cliff, graduating from Sunset High School in 1957. She attended the University of Texas at Austin from 1957-1959.
Patsy married Louis Wayne Hamilton on August 15, 1959. The couple made their home first in Austin and then in Richardson, TX, where they raised son Michael Louis and daughter Sheryl Lynn.
Following her husband’s sudden death in 1976, Patsy worked as an office manager in the Dallas area until her retirement in 2016.
She enjoyed gardening, was a passionate supporter of Texas Longhorn football, and loved cheering on her grandchildren through their milestones and activities.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Lily, and her husband, Louis. She is survived by her children, Michael (Alison) Hamilton and Sheryl Hamilton Russum, and five grandchildren: Leah Hamilton, Kayla Russum, Lauren Hamilton, Madeleine Hamilton, and Richard Russum.
Visitation will be held at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 21, followed by a service at 12:00 p.m. She will be buried in Restland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the We Are One Heart Foundation (www.wa1h.org), whose Windsor House Senior Care Home provided compassionate care and support during the final weeks of Patsy’s life.
