Patsy Elaine Boren Hamilton Becker's Obituary
Patsy Elaine Boren Hamilton Becker, known to all as Pat, died in Austin on December 31, 2020 from complications from dementia.
Pat was born on May 24, 1938, in Denison, Texas to Elva and Jim Boren. She graduated from Garland High School, which she attended with her future husband, Edward Earl Hamilton. They married in 1957 and had three children together. They moved between New Jersey, Houston, and California for Ed’s work before resettling in Richardson. Pat graduated from North Texas State University in 1987, following her support for higher education for all of her children.
Throughout her life, Pat loved dancing, Andy Williams’s music, traveling, and the color pink. No day was complete without chocolate and a Diet Coke, and ideally a Dallas Cowboys or Texas Rangers game. Pat was an active member of multiple church congregations throughout her life, the last being St. Barnabas UMC in Arlington, Texas.
After Ed’s death in 1996, Pat took up square dancing, where she met her second husband, Lieutenant Colonel Jack G. Becker. They married in 2000 and had a decade filled with traveling together and dancing with the Arlington Diamond Jubileers.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Elva and Jim, and her husbands, Ed and Jack. She is survived by her sons Jim (Devonna) and Rick (Sara) Hamilton, her daughter Sherrie Raven (Bruce), grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
The family is thankful to all who loved and cared for Pat at Tech Ridge Oaks, especially Melissa, sister Amy, Stephanie and the entire Cottages team. Gemma and Jamie from Choice Hospice were wonderful support the last ten days.
Pat will be buried alongside Ed in Restland Cemetery, Dallas. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a local food bank or other charity of your choice.
