Patsy spent most of her working career at Republic National Bank (now Bank of America). She began as a PBX operator, and worked diligently to become a bank officer before she retired. After Travis’s death in 1993, Patsy spent the next few years devoted to her family and enjoying her many grandchildren. Later in life, she married Richard Istre on March 17, 2007 and embraced his family as her own. They lived very happily until his death in 2014. Patsy’s last year was spent in Tyler, Texas where she still had family and made new friends.Patsy’s two brothers, Grady and Jim Mac Beam, preceded her in death, as well as her sister-in-law, Ruth Beam. She will forever be remembered for her service at church and to her family. Patsy was well known for her macaroni and cheese, banana pudding and to her grandkids for her pancakes and pizza. She always wore a smile on her face, had a kind word to share, and she never met a baby she couldn’t soothe in a rocking chair.
