Patsy Ruth Melton's Obituary
Celebrating a Life Well-Lived
Patsy passed away in Dallas, Texas on March 9, 2026. She was born on August 24, 1925, in Bassett, Texas to James Wise Tidwell and Cecil Miriam Coleman.
She graduated from Texarkana high School in 1943 and went to nurses training in 1944. She enlisted in the Reserve Nurses Corp (Army) @ 18 years old. She received a grant from Methodist Church which paid for her nurses training at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. Upon graduation she received her Bachelor of Nursing Science from TCU.
She enjoyed camping with their Coachman Club, reading books, playing card games, cross-stitching and other crafts. She was a member of White Rock Methodist Church on Old Gate Ln in Dallas. She lived an active, full life until Dementia stole that from her.
Mrs. Melton was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Harold Eugene Melton.
She is survived by two Sons and a Stepsons and their spouses: Gary Eugene and Karolyn Elizabeth Melton, James Keith and Kris Marie Melton, Raymond Eugene and Catherine Norma Melton.
She is also survived by her grandchildren and their spouses: Pamela Trevino (Jose), Amie Rogers (James), Heather Lemke (Casey), Katherine Haglund (Brendan), Kimberly Melton, Kathleen Chasteen (Lincoln), Ainsley Rogers.
She is also survived by her great grandchildren: James E Melton, Desirae E Allen, Anastasia J Gonzales, Briana N Gonzales, Michael L Gonzales (deceased), Wyatt Haglund and Waylon Haglund.
