Patsy Lee Rountree Miller's Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Patsy Lee Rountree Miller, 85, of Dallas, announces her passing into Heaven on February 7, 2025.
Patsy was born on August 15, 1939 in Dallas, Texas to Dr. John Robert Rountree, Sr. and Helen Bernice Kirk Rountree. After graduating Richardson High School, she attended North Texas State College where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. Patsy’s first job after college began in 1959, working for Collins Radio.
In 1960, Patsy went to work for Braniff International Airways as a Flight Attendant. It was her dream job, and her career was nothing short of glamorous. Always dressed to the nines, she epitomized elegance as she served coffee and tea from silver service. Through her time with Braniff, she traveled the word, embracing every adventure with an open heart. She cherished the experiences, the people she met, and the beauty of the world she was fortunate enough to see. She retired in 1992.
Patsy was a woman of unwavering strength and boundless selflessness. A devoted mother, she poured her heart into raising a remarkable daughter, a strong, compassionate paralegal, instilling in her the values of resilience and the importance of giving back to the community. Patsy led by example, teaching her daughter and family that true fulfillment comes from serving others with love and generosity.
After retiring, she volunteered her time in the church office of First United Lutheran Church, and taught Sunday School to the 3–5-year-olds. Later in life, Patsy’s giving spirit was on full display when she became the caregiver for her beloved Aunt and Mother. With unwavering dedication, she ensured their final years were filled with comfort, dignity, and love, embodying the selflessness that defined her life.
Patsy’s legacy is one of love, strength, and service. She gave endlessly to those around her, and her impact will continue on in the lives she touched.
Patsy is survived by her devoted daughter, Joncilee Miller; her steadfast brother John R. Rountree, Jr.; her loving sister Susan I. Noble (husband Chris); loving nephews and nieces: Jim,
Joseph, Lara, Jeffrey, Sarah, Jack, and Becky; numerous great nieces and nephews; numerous cousins, and a special grandpup Daisy Mae.
