What a wonderful gift to the world Pat was! I didn't get to know her until this last season of her life, after she went into memory care. As a Caregiver for Visiting Angels, I was asked if I would take this sweet little old lady to her church on Sunday mornings. Since I went to my church's 4PM Saturday service, this would work out well. Pat and I would go to her church in Richardson almost every Sunday morning for two years until the Covid shutdown. We'd start with adult Sunday School then go over to the main Sanctuary for the service. So many people knew and loved Pat and had apparently known Jim too. They quickly warmly welcomed me too. We kept finding things we had in common..we were both blessed and grateful widows who loved the Lord, enjoyed a good laugh, sang the alto parts of the hymns, were cat lovers, and shared a Whataburger and onion rings along with her black coffee every Sunday after church. Our partings were always very sweet. A hug and a kiss were what she preferred. It was an honor and a privilege to be of help to Pat in her final years and I look forward to joining her in her Heavenly home when the Lord's ready.
