Patsy Rose Maberry Thompson's Obituary
Patsy Rose Maberry Thompson went to be with the Lord January 25, 2023.
Pat was born December 29, 1935, in Belen, NM, to William Thomas Maberry and Eula Monetta Alexander Maberry. She graduated from Waco High School in Waco, TX in 1954. She completed IBM Keypunch School that same year and began her career at Mobil Oil. She was a keypunch operator in Houston at Mobil Oil, Gulf Oil, and American Farm Bureau before moving to Dallas where she worked for American Petrofina from 1964-1981 as a keypunch operator and eventual department supervisor. She retired from the Dallas Morning News in 1998.
She made the best of her retirement years, traveling to countries she never dreamed in childhood that she would be able to see -- China, Thailand, Peru, England, France, Austria, Switzerland, Egypt. In 2004, she moved to Williamsville, NY to be near her daughter Kelli and her family, then moved to Lakewood, OH in 2016 when Kelli relocated again. Pat found a church and made friends wherever she was.
Although born in New Mexico, Pat spent most of her life in Texas, her roots were in Texas, and in her heart, she was a Texan and will always be a Texan. She will be laid to rest beside her husband.
