Mrs Patsy Ruth Wallis' Obituary
WALLIS, Patsy (Pat) Ruth Mackoy passed from this life at the age of 90 in Dallas, Texas on January 6, 2021. She died peacefully in her room at Fountain View Continuing Care.
On July 11, 1930, Pat was born to Cleo and Walter Mackoy near Frisco, Texas. She grew up on a farm near Whitesboro, Texas, graduating from high school in 1946. After attending junior college and the University of North Texas, she worked and raised a family. In 1981, at the University of Texas at Dallas, she finished her degree in general studies.
While at North Texas, Pat met William (Bill) Clinton Wallis at a church social. They were married in October of 1949. They lived in Richardson, Texas, raised a family, and celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in 2019.
Pat was a person of deep faith, raised in churches of Christ. Along with her husband Bill, she took foreign mission trips, served in church leadership roles, taught English to foreign students in the FriendSpeak program, and served as a hospital chaplain.
Her working life was focused on public school administration for the Richardson and Highland Park school districts.
She is survived by her husband, William Clinton Wallis, Jr.; son William Mark Wallis and wife Susan Setliff Wallis of Lone Tree, Colorado, son Terry Clinton Wallis and wife Donna Case Wallis of Lewisville, Texas, six grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
She is predeced in death by her sister Margaret Mackoy Melton.
Burial will be at Restland Memorial Park (Dallas).
