Patsy Ann "Pat" White's Obituary
On Friday, July 15th, 2022, Patsy Ann (Jenkins) White died at the age of 91. Pat was born to Burrel Branum Jenkins and Helen Patricia (Duncan) Jenkins on 13 June 1931 in Sedalia, Missouri. She and her older brother Paul Laverne were steadfast friends and enjoyed the train trips they took with their mother across Arkansas; one of the perks of being “train people” since her father worked for the railroad. At the age of 13, she met and fell in love with John Allen White whom she married at the age of 19 and loved even beyond the day he died in August of 2015. Together, they raised two sons, John Branum (Johnny) and Paul Jeffery (Jeff). Johnny married Elaine Lenore Epps and Jeff married Holly Maurine Armstrong and these marriages blessed Pat with nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Pat had a heart for people, a listening ear, and a deep love for her family. She showed this love in many ways, including volunteering as a chaplain at the hospital, doing apartment ministry through First Baptist Church, taking her grandchildren on day trips, and always having an open door for visits from family and friends.
Pat was an avid reader, a great friend, and someone who enjoyed her own company. Her smile lit up the rooms she entered and she always made those she encountered feel welcomed and at home. She was known for her wit, her charm, and her profound capacity for giving and receiving love.
Visitation will be Friday, July 29, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. A memorial service will commence at 1:30PM on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at the First Baptist Church of Garland. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
