Paul was a great man. He and Ruth were great friends to our family when we were growing up. I enjoyed staying overnight with Deryl and Ferrell and riding their horse. Their home was always open. For sometime brother Paul would ride his motorized scooter to Bible class and Worship services. Many would ask How are you today? His reply was always the same Old and grouchy. I would tell him you may be getting older but there isn't a grouchy bone in your body. My oldest granddaughter remembers brother Paul as the Skittle man.He would have Skittles in his coat pocket and give them after services. That wonderful man will be greatly missed by many. Paul can be described in a phrase my dear daddy, Clyde J. Smith, always used about very special people: "He is the salt of the earth!" Yes, his genuine concern and wisdom comforted many hearts, and his desire for people to live Christian lives shone like the sun. He was a great example and dearly loved by my children and I. I remember how he left the keys in the old pick-up truck, and one day a teen in the congregation drove it into the pond! ?? But don't, I repeat, DON'T, try to beat him at "42"!!! Sunny
