Paul "Eric" Erickson's Obituary
Paul “Eric” Erickson, age 84, passed away peacefully in Dallas, Texas. Born in Independence, Missouri, Eric spent his formative years in Dallas, the city he would call home for much of his life.
In his youth, Eric was driven by a deep passion for travel, a pursuit that took him across the globe. It was during these travels that he encountered his greatest earthly treasure: his wife, Erika. The two met in Bethlehem on Christmas Eve—a providential meeting that marked the beginning of a lifelong journey together. Shortly thereafter, Eric discovered what he considered the greatest love of his life: his relationship with Jesus Christ. This discovery transformed him, and he devoted the remainder of his years to studying God’s word and sharing the good news of the Lord with as many people as possible.
Known for his generous spirit and outgoing personality, Eric was a master storyteller. He possessed an extraordinary memory, famously able to recall the names of nearly everyone he had met during his world travels. He never met a stranger, only a friend he hadn't shared a story with yet.
Eric is survived by his beloved wife, Erika; his son, Oliver, and daughter-in-law, Casey; and his six greatly beloved grandchildren: Evelyn, Zeke, Gabrielle, Susanna, Lily, and Josie. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Patricia Erickson; niece Andrea Freeman and her family and niece Holly Carr and her family; and his brother, Dale Erickson, with his wife, Jewell, niece Elizabeth and her family and nephew Christopher; as well as many families in Switzerland.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Oliver Erickson, Sr.; his mother, Georgia Lucille Saunders Erickson; and his brother, Brent Leigh Erickson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Christian world missions, continuing Eric’s lifelong heart for sharing the Lord's word across the world.
