Paul W. Hicks' Obituary
Born in Upshur County, TX, February 14, 1916. Died May 17, 2011. Retired General Counsel and Secretary of Placid Oil Company. Graduated from Pittsburg Texas High School, attended Baylor University, Tyler Commercial College and graduated from Centenary College, Shreveport, LA. Member of Lake Highlands Baptist Church, Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, devoted worker. He served 3 1 1/2 years in U. S. Navy during World War II. He is preceded in death by his wife, Irma Kate Hicks, sister, Reba Hagan and Laurice Hancock of Dallas, brother, Talmage Hicks of Austin, TX. He is survived by brother, Charles Hicks of Houston, TX., nieces, Sherry Strunk, Rhetta Goebel and Rosa Ann Sadler and nephews, David Hicks, Jim Hicks, Paul Hicks, Bill Hicks, Kenny Hagan. Visitation will begin 1:30 p.m. at the church just prior to service at Lake Highlands Baptist Church (642 Brookhurst Dr., Dallas, TX 75218) at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24th with Rev. Mark Farish officiating.
