Paul James Parker's Obituary
Paul James Parker, was born to James B. and Pauline A. Parker on April 5, 1931 in Wellington, Texas and died peacefully on May 3, 2017. Paul attended North Dallas High School and he graduated from Allen Military Academy. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. In 1973, Paul was recognized for his bravery by President Nixon and he received a Carnegie Foundation Hero Award Medal for rescuing two neighbors from a fire. Paul was a lifelong member of East Dallas Christian Church serving as a Deacon, Usher and in other roles. In 2016, Paul was named an “Honorary Deacon Emeritus” for his many years of service to the church. Paul is survived by his wife, Dora Mae Parker; son, James Terry Parker; daughter-in-law, Jenny Parker; grandson, James Ross Parker; aunt, Ruth Clements; and several nephews and nieces. Paul was preceded in death by his son, David Lee Parker and sister, Annette Dawkins. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Paul’s honor to East Dallas Christian Church or Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch. A celebration of Paul’s life will be held at East Dallas Christian Church on May 8, 2017 at 2:00 PM.
