Paul Eugene Preston's Obituary
Paul Eugene Preston was born on May 27, 1933 in Cumby, Texas to Harvey and Lois (Lee) Preston. He passed away August 17, 2017 in Greenville. Paul served honorably in the Korean war and his name is proudly displayed on the Hopkins County Veterans Memorial in Sulphur Springs, Texas. He was a faithful Christian, having professed his faith in Christ at age 12 and was comforted by the words read from the Bible kept by his bedside. Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle McCormick Preston; two brothers; one sister; and step-son, Monte McCormick. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his two brothers; Derrell Preston of Dallas, TX and Joe Preston of Houston; two sisters Flora Bowden of Richardson, TX and Laura Henderson of Tulsa, OK; son, Kevin Preston and wife Vicki of Lewisville; daughter, Audrey Young of Arlington; grandchildren, Eric Preston and wife Jamie, Ashley Whatley, Sean Preston and wife Ashley, Trenton Young and wife Ashton; great-grandchildren, Kyleigh Whatley. Jackson Preston, Jamison Preston, Creedance Young; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Paul is also survived by his children Ronald and Cathy McCormick of Richardson and Claudette Ramos of Palm Desert, CA as well as numerous step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mr. Preston will lie in state at Restland Funeral Home throughout the day on Sunday, August 20, 2017 for any visitors who wish to pay their respects and sign the registry. Please stop by the front reception desk and the funeral home will escort you back to Stateroom J. The service for Mr. Preston will be at 3:00 PM, Monday, August 21, 2017 at the Restland Memorial Park in the Wildwood Chapel with Rev. Steve Oliver officiating. The family will begin receiving friends at 2:30. Following the service, there will be a short procession to Restland Memorial Park where Mr. Preston will be laid to rest in Highland Garden. Arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home located at 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
