Paul Stuart Russell's Obituary
Paul Stuart Russell, 62, of Ft. Worth, passed away peacefully after a brief hospitalization on December 16, 2017 with his loving wife by his side.Paul was born August 22, 1955 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.At the age of 14, Paul came to know Jesus Christ as his Savior through the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ. Paul enjoyed all things outdoors and was active in the Boy Scouts of America where he achieved the distinction of Eagle Scout. He participated in ROTC and his school’s swim team. During high school, Paul enjoyed teaching scuba classes and leading dive trips to the Gulf of Mexico, and Central America. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School of Dallas in 1973. Shortly after, Paul completed training in the inaugural class of the Dallas Police Academy, where he graduated as top marksman. After serving several years with the Dallas Police Department, Paul began his entrepreneurial career by founding Russell Advertising Inc. where he successfully helped clients expand their local and national revenue streams and brick and mortar locations. He married Mary Martha Harlan of Sherman on March 16, 1985. Upon the sale of his marketing business, Paul continued to expand his entrepreneurial career into downstream oil and gas services, dot.com technology and real estate. Being an entrepreneur, Paul used his flexible schedule to spend the majority of his time serving his wife and sons, as a wonderfully dedicated husband and intensely devoted father. Following retirement, he found great enjoyment as a Buyer’s Agent realtor assisting clients find their dream homes. He felt very privileged to help many veterans in their home buying process. Paul was an active member in many church communities in Ft. Worth and Plano and enjoyed teaching and serving in Sunday School, senior adult ministries, fund raising and global missions outreach.Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Richard N. and Beatrice Chastain Russell, and brother Scott Allen Russell.Paul is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mary Martha Russell of Fort Worth, sons Michael Paul and wife Peyton Russell of Dallas, Christopher Elliott and wife Allison Russell of San Antonio, and grandsons Davis and Elliott Russell respectively. He is survived also by brother-in-law Don and wife Lee Harlan, nieces Catie and Sarah Harlan of Denison, aunts Bobby Bumpers of Saltillo, MS, Helen McAleer of Vine Grove, KY, Faith Wallick of Austin and many nieces and nephews.Paul was reunited in Heaven with his Savior Jesus Christ, family members and many rejoicing friends.Service to celebrate Paul’s life will be held in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Ft. Worth, with Pastor Don Wills officiating on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Ft. Worth, as well.
