Paul Norton Wright's Obituary
Paul Norton Wright, 82, born January 31, 1939 in Monogahela, Pennsylvania passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born from the union of Paul and Dorothy Wright.
Paul attended Carnegie State University and was a member of the SAE Fraternity there. He had a Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechnical Engineering and became a Systems Engineer in both Computer and IT Sciences as a computer security consultant, as well as a facilities manager for First United Chuch in Coppell, Texas. Many years were with IBM prior to retiring in the 1980's.
Paul is survived by his Partner in life, Robbie Moody, of over 13 years as well as his Son, Paul; wife Brenda and three daughters; Gwen Michele, Lisa Anne (husband Rodney Burnham), Shari Lynne (husband Pete Padron) with his Step-Daughter, Jennifer Moody and husband, Jim Ogden.
Also many grandchildren, Heather Beck, Chris Wright, Nick Wright, Jason Leich as well as, great-grandchildren, Dakota Wright, Aurora Beck and Gage Wright.
He was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Houston and his former wife, Martha Jean Cunningham. He and Martha were members and one of the leadership teams for Methodist Marriage encounter. After her death, he began volunteering for the Susan G. Koman three days a week in Dallas and was part of the camp logistics crew for 11 years. He once walked in the San Diego 3-Day with daughter, Shari in 2009.
His membership was with Arborlawn First United Methodist Church and volunteered for many events with the Methodist Church in Fort Worth. Hobbies included Methodist Men, Meals-on-Wheels where he began volunteering in Tarrant County. He loved singing in the chancel choir.
Paul will be truly missed by all who knew him.
