Paula Jean Graham's Obituary
Paula Jean "Polly" McMurry-Graham, 91, passed away October 21, 2020 in Dallas, TX. She was born September 1, 1929 to parents Earl Dockery and Freda Dockery in Trenton, Texas. Polly and A.E. married in 1946 and moved to West Texas to seek their fortune. Polly worked in bookkeeping and banks. Polly and A.E. established a successful welding supply business in Lubbock, Texas.
Polly was always active in supporting her children in all their social, extracurricular church activities. Polly and A.E. were active members of Southcrest Baptist Church in Lubbock, Texas. Polly taught Sunday School, training union, and coordinated the flowers for the altar weekly. Polly and A.E. moved to Garland in 1974. She continued to work with A.E. in the welding supply business until his death in 1989.
Polly and Archie married in 1992. They enjoyed traveling to various golf resorts and other fun destinations. Archie says after knowing Polly and all their loving experiences the shared, Polly made me (Archie) a better person than I could have ever imagined. Archie has been instrumental in maintaining a caring, loving, comfortable lifestyle for Polly in their home in Garland.
Polly always had a flair for fashion. She will be remembered as the life of the party and for making things fun. She was extremely loving and kindhearted. We will miss her fun spirit and sense of humor.
Polly was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, A.E. McMurry; her siblings, Bonita Shinpaugh, Edward "Dick" Dockery, May Evelyn Wilson, James Earl "Bun" Dockery, Mary Lou Kissinger, and Johnnie Nell Ferguson.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Archie Lee Graham Sr.; sister, Helen Frances Row; children, Daniel Everett McMurry, Lucy Jean Bus (husband Pat), and Dixie Lou Holloman (husband Johnny); grandchildren, John Everett Holloman, Andrew Scott Holloman, and Patrick Russell Bus; great grandchildren, Jaxson Everett Holloman, Harper Marie Holloman; and Archie's children, Archie Lee Graham Jr. (wife Janet), and Julie Dawn Caspersen.
