Pauline Haynes' Obituary
HAYNES, PAULINE KETTLE “POLLY” died October 2, 2012. She lived a full life for 95 years and died suddenly, peacefully and contentedly, while surrounded by family who prayed thanking God for the love they shared with her. What a script for life! Polly was born in Dallas on November 26, 1917, to John J. and Pauline W. Kettle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A Haynes, Jr. and sister, Dorothy “Dolly” Kettle Richardson. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Vicki Haynes Newsom and Kent Newsom, her son, Charles A Haynes III; four grandchildren, Douglas Newsom, Chas Haynes, Marcus Haynes and Ali Haynes; niece, Polly R. Simpkins, and nephew, John Richardson. Polly attended Armstrong Elementary School, Highland Park High School and graduated from SMU where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. She was a member of Park Cities Presbyterian Church, the Junior League of Dallas, Dallas Country Club, Petroleum Club of Midland, Triad Book Club of Dallas and the Minuet Club of Midland for which she was a past president. She was blessed to have many extended family members and special caregivers, Elaine Whitmire, Barbara Reed, Verna Shepherd and Sherri Tijani. A celebration of her life will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, October 6th in the Abbey Mausoleum Chapel of Restland Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Ave. In lieu of flowers, rembrances to Baylor Healthcare System Foundation, 3600 Gaston Ave, Dallas, TX 75246.
