Pauline (Palmer) Turner's Obituary
Pauline Palmer Turner, 84, was born on the 6th of May, 1936 to the parentage of the late Chief Bishop Harrison JP Palmer and Mary Goins Palmer in Plano, TX. Born to this union were 18 children. Pauline was one of 14 daughters along with four brothers. She attended Plano Colored School (later named Fredrick Douglass School). She was unenrolled in the 4th grade to help the family pick cotton from Plano to Lubbock, Tx, alongside her siblings to contribute to the household. That house currently remains in the heart of Douglass Community, in Plano, Tx.
Pauline grew up in the church and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a Christian and baptized at The Church of the Living God the Pillar and Ground of the Truth, in Plano, TX, under the leadership of her late father Bishop Harrison Palmer.
Pauline worked in food services for both Richardson ISD and First Baptist Church of Richardson for a combined total of over 15 years. She soon retired to be a homemaker and focused on raising her children.
Pauline united in marriage with Alma R.T. Turner Jr. on March 3, 1959. To this union were 7 children. She loved the Lord and began her ministry in 1965. She then assumed the title, Evangelist Pauline Turner at the young age of 29. In 1984, she became the First Lady of the Church of the Living God PGT-Plano. Pauline’s husband became a Bishop and their ministry led them both to spread the word of God, not only in Plano, but in Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Tennessee, for over 40 years. Her role in leadership did not stop there. Pauline served on the board of the National General Assembly as the National President of the Elected Sisters throughout her last days.
Pauline passed with peace and grace on January 16, 2021. She was preceded in death by her father Harrison Palmer, mother Mary Palmer, granddaughter Brandie Benard, sisters Gloria Denson, Indiana Houston, Rose Jones, Johnnie Franklin, Mary Morton, Alice Gaddis, Laverne Reed, Susan Denson, Jean Stimpson, Mae Kemp, Dorothy Taylor-McKinzie, Iona Palmer, brothers Jessie Palmer, Titus Palmer, Benny Palmer, baby Sam, and best friend Theola Franklin.
