Pearl Agness Lane's Obituary
Pearl Agness Turberville Lane, 86, of Garland, TX, was born in Uriah, AL on November 29, 1929, and went to see her Lord and Savior on August 28, 2016 after an illness with cancer. She will be truly missed by her children and everyone that ever knew her. She was a small person but a large blessing from heaven. Pearl has been the ultimate caregiver all her life, while being the second oldest of ten children and then having five children of her own. Her husband Herb Lane was in the US Air Force therefore, she had the opportunity to travel all over the world, multiple times traveling overseas with five children by herself. She was an excellent cook, and fed many people over the years. You never left her house hungry or without leftovers. She especially loved baking cookies. She loved to garden, sew, and feed the birds. She was very nurturing to every child she meet. After her youngest started school, she became a seamstress for about 12 years, then ran her own home daycare for about 10 years. Her last words were, “I am going to be so happy.” She is preceded in death, by her husband Hurbert Harold Lane, her parents Johnny Turberville, Jr. and Olive Dyal Turberville, also by five siblings, June Lloyd, Carlton Turberville, Billy Turberville, Betty Morris, Clark Turberville, and one grandson Andrew Merrell. Her surviving siblings are Laura Morris and husband Don from North Carolina, Lonnie Turberville and wife Sammie from Alabama, Sue Dauphin and husband Mildon from Florida, and Delton Turberville and wife Susanne from Florida. She is survived by her five children, Peggy and Stephen Merrell of Dallas, Mike and Kathleen Lane of Irving, John and Cindy Lane of Garland, Bobby and Tracy Lane of Garland, and Sheila and Glenn Armstrong of Rowlett. Thirteen grandchildren Melody, Thomas, Melissa, Kelly, Matthew, Kayla, Natalie, Marcie, Austin, Jeni, Cathe, Mackenzie, and Cassidy. She was also blessed with 19 great-grandchildren. You don’t come across too many people as wonderful and caring as Pearl. She will be greatly missed. It won’t be what she is taking from this earth, but what she has left behind. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 2nd from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 3rd at 11:00 A.M. at the same location.
