Ms. Pearl Mae Moore's Obituary
Pearl passed from this life to the arms of her Lord and Savior on May 31, 2007. She was born on August 31, 1905 in the city of Leonard, Fannin County, Texas to her parents Myrtle Smith and Wade Coonrod. Pearl’s family moved to Farmers Branch in the early 1910’s, where she grew up and eventually met the love of her life, Gayle Moore. Pearl and Gayle were married on July 17, 1926 and began their life together in Farmers Branch. Pearl was the proud mother of her devoted daughters, Alma Lois (Amy), and Joanie Gayle, as well as a friend and confidant of numerous extended family members throughout the state of Texas. Pearl and her family moved to east Dallas in 1940, where they lived the remainder of their lives. As Pearl rarely traveled outside of Texas, she preferred to live a simple life surrounded by her friends and family, as well as being thoroughly devoted to growing closer to her Lord. Pearl and Gayle served their Lord through dedicated Bible study and faithful church attendance at Gaston Avenue Baptist Church and Lakeside Baptist Church, being active in Sunday School and the Triple ‘L’ Club. Pearl modeled true love by constantly putting other people first and allowing her beautiful and gentle smile to be a beacon to draw others to her side. Pearl is an inspiration to all as she lived her life so that she was never too busy to spend time with others. Pearl was proceeded in death by her husband Gayle Moore, her parents Myrtle Smith and Wade Coonrod, her sister Nora Pinyan, her bothers Curt Coonrod and Earnest Coonrod. She is survived by daughters Alma Lois (Amy) Jones and the late Bill Jones of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Joanie Gayle and Johnny Williams of Dallas, Grandchildren Kim and Mike Kotrla, Kelly and Ken Norman, Kirk and Cindy Williams, Brian and Ginger Jones, Karen and John Owen, as well as eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by nieces Juanita Reedy and Yvonne Bradshaw, and nephew Joe Philpott, and countless friends that she touched throughout her life. Pearl was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She will be lovingly remembered for always putting her family first.
