Peggy Marie Bragg's Obituary
Peggy Marie Bragg, 97, of Denton, Texas, passed peacefully into the gates of heaven on April 27, 2024.
Peggy was born to John B. Hausman and Verda Mae Dorien Hausman on May 5, 1926, in Dallas, Texas. She married the love of her life Richard Russell Bragg Sr. (Dick) on April 1, 1945, in Dallas, Texas. Together they welcomed sons John Michael (Mike) in 1946, Richard Russell Jr. in 1955, and Andrew Allen (Andy) in 1956. Peggy was a wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, great-aunt and a beloved friend to many.
During Richard's years in the Air Force, Peggy traveled the world following him from assignment to assignment. Always packing and moving and making each place a home. They lived in England, Turkey, as well as all over the United States. Peggy was a dedicated officer's wife who was a great asset to her husband and his position while balancing family life with three active sons.
Once Richard retired from active military life, Peggy and Dick settled in Murphy, Texas where Peggy especially enjoyed family times. She and Dick would host big family gatherings with delicious meals and the family would play competitive games around the dinner table. She was able to spend time with her grandchildren, shop with her sister, travel to the mountains, and read her favorite books.
Peggy is survived by and will be greatly missed by sons and daughters-in law Mike and Irene Bragg, Richard and Jeanie Bragg, and Andy and Bea Bragg; grandchildren Cody Bragg, Zachary Bragg and wife Jessica, Chris Bragg and wife Katie, and Kaylee (Bragg) and husband Kellen Redder; great-grandchildren Austin-Leigh, Lane, Reagan, Charlie, Tully, Coletta, and Eleanor Bragg; Niece Sandy Hargrove and nephew Steve Hargrove Sr. and wife Jenny; great-nieces and nephews.
Peggy was preceded in death by husband Richard Russell Bragg Sr., parents John B. and Verda Mae Hausman, sister Johnnie Hargrove, brother-in-law Ray Hargrove, great nephew Stephen H. Hargrove Jr.
Graveside service will be at 10:00am, Friday, May 3, 2024, at Restland Memorial Park, Dallas. Visitation will be Friday at Restland Funeral Home from 9:00am - 10:00am prior to the graveside service.
