Peggy Fultz's Obituary
Peggy Fultz, 80, of Rockwall, TX went to be with the Lord on May 9. 2023 at 7:40AM in Greenville, TX while at Hunt Regional Medical Center recovering from foot surgery. Her funeral service will be May 22, 2023, in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, TX. There will be a Visitation time starting at 12:30PM with the service beginning at 1PM. Her ashes will be laid to rest immediately following a short graveside service for immediate family and friends. Peggy was born March 31, 1943 in New Orleans, LA after her mother, Thelma Castleberry traveled there to see her husband, James, leave to fight in the Pacific in WWII. She went into labor and gave birth to Peggy while in New Orleans. James was later wounded on the beaches of Okinawa and finally introduced to his daughter Peggy when she was about three years old. Peggy grew up with her family in Oak Cliff, TX where she graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1960. In high school, she met her first love, Tommy Gargus, whom she married shortly after graduating. On January 11, 1962, she gave birth to her only child, James (Rocky) Gargus. Peggy, Tommy, and James lived in and around Mesquite, TX until James graduated from Mesquite High School in 1980 and went on to TCU. Peggy and Tommy moved to Kaufman, Tx in 1982, and lived there until March 31, 1986, when Tommy passed away and left Peggy widowed. A few years later, a dead car battery changed her life. That is when a man named Tom Fultz asked her if she needed help. They began dating and were soon married and enjoyed many incredible years together until Tom passed away July 18, 2016. While married, they were both baptized together at Lake Pointe Church, they traveled on a regular basis, attended numerous activities and sporting events to watch their grandchildren, and enjoyed countless gatherings with family and friends. Peggy worked most of her life as a receptionist and bookkeeper. The first company she worked for was Blue Cross and Blue Shield in downtown Dallas where she worked for many years, and then on to Pizza Inn, Inc for over thirty years. Peggy lived a blessed life to say the least, but more importantly, she blessed others with her love, her thoughtfulness, her giving, her service, and most of all, she showed others the love of Jesus through her actions. She will be incredibly missed, but we know the Lord wanted to take her home, give her a new body, and ultimately, this is His plan. Peggy was preceded in death by parents James H and Thelma Castleberry, brother Ronnie Castleberry, husbands Tommy Gargus and Tommy Fultz. She is survived by her son James Gargus and his wife Julie, grandson Jack Gargus and fiancée Preston Lee, Abby Mowad and husband Joseph, and many nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to Lake Point Church in Rockwall, TX, specifically to the Murrell Zambia Mission Project.
