Peggy Joyce Luna's Obituary
Peggy Joyce (Imken) Luna, of McKinney, Texas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Friday, January 2, 2026, at the age of 93.
Peggy was born on October 19, 1932, in San Antonio, Texas, to Alwin and Edna Mae Imken. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Jimmy Clifton “Jim” Luna; and her sons, Larry Alan Luna and Gary Wayne Luna.
Peggy married Jim Luna on November 21, 1951, in San Antonio, and together they built a life grounded in love, family, and resilience. Peggy was the backbone of their family-run business, Richardson Appliance, where she worked alongside Jim and played a vital role in its success. In addition, Peggy worked market week at the Dallas Apparel Mart for 39 years. In her later years, she devoted nine years as a volunteer at Methodist Richardson Medical Center, serving others with kindness and compassion.
Peggy brought joy and vibrancy to everything she did. She was always upbeat and cheerful, carrying a positive attitude that lifted those around her. Her joyful spirit was reflected in her distinctive attire and love of beautiful jewelry, which became a signature of her personality. She found great joy in bird watching, fishing, and being outdoors.
Peggy especially loved spending time on her boats and at her lake houses on Lake Kiowa and Lake Texoma. Some of her happiest moments were spent on the water, enjoying the peace, beauty, and freedom that lake life brought her.
Peggy adored her grandchildren and cherished the many close friendships she formed over the years. She had a gift for making people feel welcome, valued, and loved, and her presence brought warmth wherever she went.
She is survived by her son Tarry Charles Luna and his wife, Tracy Luna, of McKinney; her grandchildren Ryan Luna and his wife, Genesis; Cameron (Luna) Russell and her husband, Clifton; Hayden Luna; Ava (Luna) Grimmett and her husband, Reid; Taylor Hurst and her husband, Jake; and her great-grandchildren Marguerite, William, Beau, Genevieve, Camila, Yoanna, Mia, Jonathan, Baron, and Hartford, which she cherished deeply.
A memorial service will be held on January 12, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas. A reception will follow the service.
In loving memory of Peggy, her necklaces will be displayed at the entrance of the chapel, and guests are invited to select one to wear, a reflection of her joyful spirit and the beauty she brought into the world.
Peggy will be remembered for her vibrant personality, her devotion to family and friends, and her zest for life. While she will be deeply missed, her legacy of joy, warmth, and love will live on in all who knew her.
