Peggy D. Maupin Moore's Obituary
Peggy D. Maupin Moore, a beloved matriarch and devoted woman of faith, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2025, in Wylie, Texas, at the age of 95. Peggy was born on October 26, 1929, in Austin, Texas, to a family that instilled in her a deep love of tradition, heritage, and service.
An accomplished homemaker, Peggy balanced her career with grace, holding positions at Texas Instruments and McShan Florist, where she formed lasting friendships.
Peggy was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Edward Moore, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories, and her cherished son, Michael Edward Moore. Her steadfast spirit lives on in her surviving children: her devoted daughter Enola Gay Morrison of Daingerfield and her sons, Jimmy Stuart Moore and Stephen Patrick Moore, both of Dallas. She also leaves behind a legacy of love in her six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren, who will continue to be inspired by her strength and values.
Peggy’s love for genealogy was more than a hobby it was her passion. She spent countless hours researching family records in courthouses and cemeteries across Texas and scouring online archives to preserve the rich tapestry of her family’s history. Her dedication to uncovering and honoring the past will forever be treasured by her descendants.
A devoted Pentecostal, Peggy’s unwavering faith was the cornerstone of her life. She loved her church and took great joy in the fellowship and worship that enriched her days. Her deep spirituality was evident to her family, friends, and community.
Funeral arrangements: Services will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, with visitation at 1 PM and the funeral at 2 PM, followed by a graveside service.
Peggy’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and dedication. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her, and her legacy will endure through the generations she so deeply loved.
