Penny Reagan's Obituary
Penny Sue Shaw Reagan passed away Wed., Feb. 10, 2010, at Baylor Hospital in Dallas after a courageous 15-month battle with acute myeloid leukemia. She was surrounded by many of her loved ones as she peacefully stepped into Heaven. She was born in Mineral Wells, TX, on Thanksgiving Day Nov.23, 1950, to Doris M. Wells Shaw & Dewitt T. Shaw. She graduated with honors from Mineral Wells High School and Texas Tech University with a BBA in Accounting. She worked for TU Electric (TP&L) for 10 years, where she met, fell in love, & married her husband of 35 years, Duane B. Reagan. She felt it was important for her to stay at home when she had their 3 sons: Russell, Cole, & Scott Reagan. She always kept her CPA license current, & later went back to work in corporate accounting in Las Colinas. She was proud to be able to return to work as a senior tax accountant for Michaels Stores, Inc. several months after her bone-marrow transplant in April 2009. She was a very active 30-year member of First United Methodist Church of Irving, TX, where she enjoyed participating in the church’s bell choir. Since moving to Flower Mound, she & her husband attend Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church. Penny will be remembered for her beautiful smile, wonderful outlook, keen intelligence, loving heart, immense faith, & as a true inspiration. She was an amazing lady, who will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents, mother-in-law, & father-in-law. She is survived by her husband, Duane Reagan; three sons Russell Taylor Reagan & wife Blaire, Cole Thomas Reagan, and Scott Tyler Reagan; her mother Doris M. Shaw, her two brothers Tom D. Shaw & wife Rita, John T. Shaw & wife Sue; life-long friend Janis Harbus; In-laws Patsy & Bill Hendrix, Nancy & Neal Brady, Eugene & Dodie Reagan, Chris & Jan Reagan; Nephews Dan Shaw, Jason Cherry, Matt Brady, Rick Brady, Jet Reagan, & Charlie Reagan; Nieces Jill Shaw, Kelly Reagan Glankler, & Rachael Chambers; Aunt Iris Bianchi; Uncles Clarence Wells & wife Mary, and Mike Wells & wife Leanne, as well as 11 cousins & a multitude of dear friends. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
