Percie "Papa" Wilson's Obituary
On August 18,, 1924, Hercie and Blanche Wilson were blessed with the birth of their son Percie Wilson in Jonesville, Texas. Percie attended public school in Jonesville, Texas. His family later moved to Dallas, Texas where he would be drafted into the US Army. At an early age, Percie accepted Christ Jesus as his Lord and Savior. In 1961 he became a member of the St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Hubert Harris. There he served faithfully on the Usher Ministry until his health began to fail. In 1950 he met Gladys Hamilton and they would marry in 1954. To this union 2 daughters were born. Percie was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, and his daughter, Margaret King. He leaves to cherish his memory: wife: Gladys Wilson; son: Percy Wilson, daughters: Latina Wilson and Teresa Fuller (Calvin), Special God-daughter: Deleah Caro; 10 grandchildren, great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Family will receive friends on Sunday, August 14, 2016 from 5:00PM – 7:00PM at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held Monday, August 15, 2016 at 11:00AM in The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
