Peri Kristina "Kristi " barry's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kristi Barry, who lost her brief and heroic battle with lung cancer on February 27, 2025. She was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her death and greeted in paradise by her sister Keri. Her faith in God remained strong throughout her illness and she found comfort in the strength and love of her family.
Kristi’s grace and beauty were matched only by her kind heart and gentle spirit. She was a cherished wife to John, phenomenal mother to her children, devoted daughter to her parents, beloved Kiki to her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and dear friend to countless others. Kristi’s love for her family was unwavering and the most important part of her life. She always had a smile to share, a kind word to say and a sense of peace that surrounded her, making her a true blessing to all who knew her. Almost every morning, she could be found on the back patio with her dogs Rory & Mac, listening to the birds singing while enjoying her favorite cup of coffee and the morning sunlight.
In this time of sorrow, we celebrate Kristi’s life and the exceptional woman she was. While she will be indescribably missed, we have comfort in knowing she is now in God’s hands and is no longer suffering. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her, and she will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, and the love she shared so deeply with her family.
Kristi was born and raised in Texarkana, Texas. She graduated from Pleasant Grove High School where she was on the cheerleading squad and voted most beautiful in her class. She attended The University of North Texas where she earned her degree in psychology. She later found her passion for nutrition and wellness and started her own business as a holistic health coach.
Kristi leaves behind a true legacy in her devoted husband John; her children Jordan (Marta) Fox, Jarret Fox, Jolie Fox, Joshua Barry, Chelsea (Justin) Motes, Nicole Barry; and beloved grandchildren Oliver Fox, and Harvey, Harrison, Calvin and Maura Motes. She also leaves behind her parents Perry & Sara Oakley, and in-laws Joe & Alicia Barry. She is preceded in death by her sister, Keri Lockley.
Services will be held at Christ United Methodist Church in Plano, Texas, Friday, March 14 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you please consider donating to the American Cancer Society, bontonfarms.org or a charity of your choice in her name.
