Peter Francis Godwin's Obituary
Peter Francis Godwin passed away peacefully November 23, 2025 at 77 years of age surrounded by his family. He was born in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania on June 20, 1948 the third of eight children to William and Marijo Godwin. His family moved to Richardson, TX where he graduated from Richardson High School (1966) and there met and married the love of his life, Judy Fredricks. Pete and Judy have two children, daughter Kerrie and son Phillip.
Pete's greatest joys were family, friends and his faith. As a dedicated member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Pete had many roles including serving as an Eucharistic minister, a member of the finance committee and his beloved Renew group. After Pete earned his business degree at the University of North Texas, he had a long-time career at H.B. Fuller, in sales and management. In his free time, he especially enjoyed playing golf and traveling. While he and his family experienced many memorable trips, some of his favorites were to Italy, the San Juan Islands and Angel Fire, New Mexico.
In addition to keeping a positive attitude throughout his life, he was known to be a man of honor and devotion. He was well liked and always stepped up to help others. His greatest priority was his family who meant the world to him and who will miss him dearly.
Pete is survived by his wife Judy; daughter Kerrie (Rick); son Phillip (Kate). He is also survived by his grandchildren Brittany (Ryan), Garrett (Caroline), Grayson, Ella Grace, and Kendra who all lovingly called him Pops. Other survivors include sisters Bridget, Marijo, and Polly (Jeff); brothers John (Vicky) and Mark; sisters-in-law Debbie and Carolyn; and numerous nieces and a nephew as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents William and Marijo as well as his brothers Tim and Bill.
A memorial mass will be held on December 11, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. St. Joseph Catholic Church, 600 S Jupiter Rd. Richardson, TX 75081. Preceded by a Rosary at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow.
