Phillip Joseph Pond's Obituary
Phillip Joseph Pond, age 87, a beloved husband and father, peacefully went to be with the Lord on May 11,2025, after a life richly lived in service and kindness.
He was born in Kansas City, Missouri, to Eugene Pond and Josephine (nee English). Phillip was preceded in death by his parents and brother Conrad Pond. He is survived by his spouse, Gail Pond (nee Henaghan); sons Bryan Pond (Patty), of South Lake Tahoe, CA; Stephen Pond of McKinney TX; Kevin Pond (Sherry) and grandchildren Ryan and Lauren of Burr Ridge, IL; great - granddaughter Gaby Monachino of Little Rock, AR; and niece Jennifer Pond of Hutto, TX.
Phillip graduated from Sunset High School, Dallas, and in 1960 from Texas A&M after which he served in the Army as 1st Lieutenant from 1960 thru 1962. He achieved his private pilot's license at the young age of 15, before he was old enough to earn a driver's license. He was always interested in aviation and worked for many years in the aviation insurance industry. After numerous corporate transfers Phillip and Gail returned to Texas upon his retirement.
There will be a graveside service at Restland Cemetery on Friday, May 16. A Memorial service has been scheduled at First United Methodist Church McKinney on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 2:00 pm.
He Will be genuinely missed by his family, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. Though he has departed this world, his legacy of love, faith, and service will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
