Phyla Belf Morton was born 02/02/1929 in Chicago, Illinois to parents Phyla and Jesse Martin. She passed away on 02/28/2021 in Waco, Tx, while in hospice care.
Phyla is survived by her children Dick Belf, Jr and his wife Mary, of Waco, Tx; Danny Belf and his wife Linda, of Waco, Tx; and Darcy Belf Melton and her husband Brian, of Houston, Tx; her brother Jess Martin, of Gull Lake, Michigan; her grandchildren Brooke Belf Kohler, Sarah Belf Arnold, Brett Belf, Bekah Belf Trout, Julie Melton Rauth, Laura Melton Hess, Leslie Melton Hobby, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Phyla was preceded in death by her husband Dick Belf in 1980, and then by husband Mickey Morton in 2018.
She was a graduate of Michigan State University, had enjoyed a teaching career and was a life-long bridge player. After having grown up in the north she spent most of her adult life living in Dallas, Tx. She was a loving spouse, mother, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed.
